Since Penn State fired head coach James Franklin, things have been a little tense around the Nebraska football program. Things got a bit more tense when Huskers head coach Matt Rhule didn’t put rumors that he was a top candidate to bed during his Monday press conference.
On Thursday, Rhule might have done what NU fans would have done earlier in the week. During an appearance on the Pat McAfee show, the Cornhuskers head coach made some comments that indicate he’s not going anywhere.
Matt Rhule declares Nebraska a ‘destination job’ while possibly ending Penn State chatter
McAfee started things off in the segment, asking the Nebraska head coach what it’s like with the team, with the rumors flying fast and furiously. Rhule answered that he just tries to be honest with them at all times. He added that he tries to get them to understand that these kinds of rumors are just part of college sports.
