Tanganyika founder receives lifetime achievement award

WICHITA, Kan. (KSNW) — Tanganyika Wildlife Park founder, Jim Fouts, was given the Zoological Association of America lifetime achievement award on Thursday.

The award recognizes Fouts’ passion for advancing conservation efforts for rare and endangered species around the world.

In 1984, Fouts founded Tanganyika Wildlife Company with only 5 acres of land. Now, the park is home to more than 100 species and 47 successful breeding programs.
