Watervliet to provide Thanksgiving meals to residents in need

WATERVLIET, N.Y. (NEWS10) — For the third year in a row, the city of Watervliet will provide Thanksgiving meals for residents. The city is currently accepting requests for dinners.

“We’re expecting in the neighborhood of 300 meals to be requested,” Mayor Charles Patricelli said. “We are asking only those who need a meal to make a request to ensure we can take care of all requests. I am also working with local organizations to see how our seniors will be able torequest meals and help make Thanksgiving just a little bit more pleasant for those who do nothave the opportunity to have a family meal, especially a Thanksgiving meal.”

The meals will be put together at the Watervliet High School kitchen. Volunteers will then deliver the meals on Wednesday, Nov. 26, the day before Thanksgiving.
