George Lucas has moved well beyond Star Wars 13 years after selling the franchise to Disney in 2012.

When Lucas, 81, and his wife Mellody Hobson spoke with WSJ. Magazine’s for the outlet’s Innovators issue published Thursday, Oct. 16, Lucas spoke briefly about Star Wars as they discussed the Lucas Museum of Narrative Art in Los Angeles, which is set to open next year.

“Disney took it over and they gave it their vision. That’s what happens,” Lucas told the outlet, when asked if he has “let go” of the franchise after decades of shepherding fans through stories a long time ago in a galaxy far, far, away…
