(FOX40.com) – Drivers in Sacramento should prepare for delays as another weekend closure goes into effect Friday night for parts of Interstate-80 and Highway 50.
A 70-hour closure begins at 8 p.m. on Oct. 17 and lasts through Oct. 20 at 6 p.m. Work will happen on the connector from westbound Business 80/Capital City Freeway to eastbound Highway 50.
In a statement, Caltrans said, “reconstruction work involves in-depth excavation to remove the material, followed by ground improvement measures, including placing a specially treated cement base prior to asphalt paving.”
Caltrans shared the following suggested detours:
- Take the connector to westbound Highway 50 (Exit 6A)
- Take the off-ramp to 10th Street (Exit 4B)
- Turn left on Riverside Boulevard/11th Street
- Turn left on X Street
- Take the Riverside Boulevard/11th/X Street on-ramp to eastbound Highway 50 on the immediate left.
