SAN DIEGO — Carlos Maldonado, 19, was sentenced to 270 days of felony probation for assault and gun charges in a downtown San Diego courtroom today. Maldonado, who was previously accused of killing a 12-year-old at a National City house party last year, pleaded guilty to assaulting a 14-year-old boy at Lincoln High School in October and negligently discharging a firearm in February.
During the sentencing, Maldonado expressed remorse for his actions. “I’ve had a lot of time to think about my actions as to why I’m here and I’ve accepted that my actions brought me to where I am today,” said Maldonado.
