Florida Man With Feeding Tube Tried to Kill His Family to ‘Get Them Up to Heaven,’ Sheriff Says

CRAWFORDVILLE, FLORIDA — A 73-year-old Florida man is behind bars after allegedly stabbing his wife in the neck and threatening to kill his daughter, claiming he wanted to “get them up to heaven” because he was “tired of everyone suffering.”

According to the Wakulla County Sheriff’s Office, Allison Hubert Hatton has been charged with attempted felony murder, aggravated battery on a person over 65, and assault with intent to commit a felony following a violent domestic attack early Saturday morning.

Deputies Respond to Early Morning Stabbing

Deputies responded around 4 a.m. on October 11 to a home on Shadeville Road in Crawfordville, located about 15 miles south of Tallahassee. Hatton’s 42-year-old daughter called 911, reporting that her father had just stabbed her mother, who was “bleeding profusely.”

When officers arrived, they found Hatton disarmed and compliant. His 69-year-old wife was rushed to Tallahassee Memorial Hospital with two puncture wounds and a laceration to her throat.
