It’s been a week of delicious fair food in this week’s food news. First, the media preview day for the N.C. State Fair introduced around 30 of the 88 new items vendors are selling this year. Then, at the opening of the Brunswick County fair, I got to check out the options at this first ever event. Read more below.
What’s happening?
It’s fair weather, friend: There are plenty reasons to make a day trip to Raleigh for the state fair. There’s all the new food, local performers and Wilmington-area chefs doing their thing. But, if you want to stay closer to home, the Brunswick County event takes place this weekend and has plenty of tasty bites.
More things to do: Plus, there’s a full lineup of other delicious things happening this month. And I’m also making notes for November food-and-drink events too, like the Taste of Wrightsville Beach on Nov. 1 and a new oyster festival happening at Seabird restaurant.
Towering above: Speaking of Seabird, it’s one of the local places where you can get a seafood tower. They are edible celebrations you can share with friends. Have you tried one of these?
