Eastside Kings Festival showcasing Austin’s African American Blues, Jazz, Gospel artists

AUSTIN (KXAN) — The 13th annual Eastside Kings Festival is set for this weekend. More than 20 bands and artists will play across five venues in historic east Austin on Saturday and Sunday.

Eastside Kings is more than your standard music fest. It’s also a mission of preservation and promotion of the cultural heritage of African American Blues, Jazz, and Gospel music.

The Eastside Kings Foundation, a local nonprofit, puts on the fest every year. According to its website, the foundation’s initiative “focuses on largely unknown African American musicians and aims to give them opportunities to showcase their music in live performances around the world.”…
