Metairie apartment owner could face legal troubles due to water shutoff

METAIRIE, LA (WVUE) – After The Maxwell apartment complex in Metairie went without water for several days earlier this month due to unpaid water bills, a Jefferson Parish councilman is considering using a new state law to hold the property owners accountable for the disruption.

FOX 8 first learned about the issue through a tip submitted to the FOX 8 Defenders line. A resident reported that water to the entire complex was shut off on Oct. 3, with no warning or explanation from the property owners, Steward and Helm.
