The world’s best speedway racers are invading Industry Hills Speedway in City of Industry, California for the World Speedway Invitational 3, an AMA sanctioned event on the FIM calendar and the biggest speedway race in the USA. The event is open to the public and tickets are still available.
For the first time in more than a decade, the fastest and most high-profile speedway racers on the planet will converge inside the “Thunderdome” at Industry Hills Speedway on Saturday, October 25, for the World Speedway Invitational 3, an AMA sanctioned event on the FIM calendar and the biggest speedway race in the USA.
The highly anticipated return of this one-night showcase of the century old racing discipline will pit six of the most talented racers in Europe against 10 of America’s best in an explosive battle for supremacy, featuring no brakes and sideways slides around the 1/8 mile bullring inside the fully covered hilltop venue.
Leading the way for the European superstars, many of whom will make the overseas journey for the first time, is Poland’s Artem Laguta, the 2021 FIM Speedway Grand Prix World Champion who is also a 6-time Speedway Grand Prix winner and 3-time FIM Speedway of Nations Champion. He’ll be joined by fellow countrymen Maciej Janowski,an FIM Under-21 World Champion, Speedway Grand Prix winner, and 2-time FIM Speedway of Nations Champion, as well as Przemek Pawlicki, a European Under-21 Champion and World Team Junior Champion.
Great Britain will be represented by Tom Brennan, a 2-time FIM Speedway of Nations Champion and multi-time British Champion, alongside British 500cc Youth Champion and 16-year-old speedway phenom Will Cairns. Rounding out the European lineup is Latvia’s Andžejs Ļebedevs, the current sixth-ranked rider in the world who is both a 2-time Latvian Champion and 2-time European Champion.
Flanking their international counterparts is an impressive United States lineup, spearheaded by Billy “The Kid” Janniro, the most successful speedway racer in AMA history and winner of the inaugural World Speedway Invitational in 2012. The Northern California legend is an 11-time AMA National Speedway Champion, 6-time U.S. Speedway National Champion, and the 2020 AMA/FIM North America Speedway Final Champion. He’ll be accompanied by a pair of additional American stars in Broc Nicol, a 2-time AMA National Speedway Champion and 2-time U.S. Speedway National Champion, and Max Ruml, a 3-time AMA National Speedway Champion, 4-time U.S. National Speedway Champion, and 2-time AMA/FIM North America Speedway Final Champion.
The USA also includes Aaron Fox, one of the most experienced racers in the country with a pair of U.S. Speedway National Championships, veteran racer Austin Novratil, the 2021 U.S. Open Speedway Champion and AMA Speedway National Under-21 Champion, and ascending talent Slater Nightcap, the 2024 California State Champion and former AMA Speedway National Under-21 Champion. Rounding out the American lineup is Alex Martin, a 2-time AMA Speedway National Under-21 Champion, Gino Manzares, a former AMA Speedway National Under-21 Champion and current Swedish Elite League competitor, second-generation racer Wilbur Hancock, the son of 4-time FIM Speedway World Champion and AMA Motorcycle Hall of Famer Greg Hancock, and longtime racer Timmy Dion.
