Local woman opens Emil’s coffee shop, taproom in downtown Augusta

AUGUSTA, Ga. (WRDW/WAGT) – A local woman has opened a new coffee shop and taproom in downtown Augusta after nearly a decade of planning and seven years of building renovation.

Emilie Moseley and her husband bought the building on Broad Street seven years ago and have spent years working on it. The business, Emil’s, opened as what Moseley calls a passion project to help bring new life to downtown.

“Augusta’s been trying to revitalize downtown since I was a kid,” Moseley said. “We’re on the cusp of it actually changing, and we wanted to be a part of that and maybe on the leading edge of that.”…
