Charlotte County Addresses Restroom Cleanliness Concerns in Parks During Vendor Transition

Charlotte County park-goers might have noticed something less than fresh on their last outing. The county, which typically employs an external vendor for the not-so-glamorous but essential job of keeping park restrooms clean, has found itself between contracts. As reported by the county itself, their previous vendor is now out of the picture, which means, for the short term, temporary cleaners will be picking up the slack.

This isn’t a situation that is planned to drag on; Charlotte County assures a new vendor will be put in place in about eight weeks. In the meantime, it’s going to be a bit of a team effort. Community Services staff will be stepping in to “ensure facilities remain safe and usable,” a task that one can certainly not easily overstate the importance of in a public space. On the Charlotte County website, the county shared that, during the transition, they “are monitoring all facilities closely to meet the most immediate needs.”
