Winston-Salem was the scene of a critical roundtable discussion as Governor Josh Stein and Forsyth County Sheriff Bobby Kimbrough aimed to address the twin challenges of crime response and prevention. Stein’s conversation with an assembly of law enforcement leaders underscored a pressing need for a comprehensive public safety strategy. Information obtained by the Office of the Governor of North Carolina revealed that the meeting included sheriffs from Forsyth and Guilford counties, as well as police chiefs from multiple cities and the state’s mental health professionals.
Putting a spotlight on the collective effort required for safer communities, Governor Stein told attendees, βIt will take all of us to make our communities safer β from local law enforcement to our mental health care professionals,β as mentioned on the North Carolina Office of the Governor.
