Palo Duro Canyon State Park recently announced they have an opening for a winter campground host. If you love being in the great outdoors, this is the opportunity of a lifetime.

Duties of a Campground Host

A campground host’s responsibilities are pretty straightforward. Your job is to make sure camping areas are clean and that guests are taken care of.

You’ll do things like clean the restrooms, tidy up the camp sites, and be available for any questions or concerns that campers might have. In return, you have a spot furnished for your RV, and you get to soak up all that the canyon has to offer.

On a recent road trip from Amarillo to Washington state, I stayed exclusively at state park campgrounds. I met a lot of campground hosts on my trip.

One of them spent some time chatting with me over breakfast about what life is like as a campground host. He talked about all of the new friends he made and how rewarding the work was.
