Brothers exonerated of murder receive about $312K after being behind bars for 25 years

GREEN BAY (WKRC) – David and Robert Bintz, who were exonerated after serving life sentences for the 1987 murder of Sandra Lison in Green Bay, have received financial compensation from the State of Wisconsin. Both men have been serving life sentences since 2000.

The Wisconsin Claims Board announced that both men, who were cleared of the crime through advanced DNA testing, were awarded $25,000 each under the Innocent Convict Compensation program, according to WFRV.

Additionally, Robert Bintz received $128,698.20 in attorney fees, while David Bintz was awarded $134,328.45 for the same. The brothers were also seeking an additional $2 million in compensation…
