Thousands without power as thunderstorms move across Arkansas

SPRINGDALE, Ark. — Thousands were left without power as thunderstorms moved across Arkansas on Saturday, Oct. 18.

As of 2:30 p.m., over 5,000 customers were affected by outages in the 5NEWS viewing area and surrounding counties.

Here’s a breakdown of where the outages were reported, how many customers were affected, and what utility companies were involved:

  • Carroll County — 3,270 customers without power — 1,693 with SWEPCO, 1,577 without Carroll Electric
  • Benton County — 1,378 customers without power — 997 with Ozarks Electric, 380 with Carroll Electric, one with Bentonville Light and Water
  • Washington County — 384 customers without power — 344 with Ozarks Electric, 40 with SWEPCO
  • Crawford County — 30 customers without power — 30 with Arkansas Valley Electric
  • Sebastian County — 154 customers without power — 154 with OG&E
  • Scott County — 69 customers without power — 69 with Arkansas Valley Electric
