ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (KRQE) – A powerful art project was unveiled Saturday, reflecting on the impact of gun violence. Multiple organizations and schools around the city partnered with local artist Jeremy Thomas over the past six months to build something extraordinary.
A house made entirely from gun parts. The parts were collected from the Guns to Gardens Buyback Program, where people can donate their firearms.

The program offers young people the chance to participate to learn trade skills and express their feelings towards gun violence. “My thoughts before the program was it’s always inevitable and it’s just bound to happen regardless. Now we can take steps to prevent it and stop it as a whole, though it’s going to take time,” said Hilario Jaramillo, a student with the Youth Conservation Corps.
The event was open to the public, and organizers hope to take the art installation around the state to raise awareness for gun violence prevention…
