Years ago, the weekly farmers’ market drew people to the Albany riverfront on Saturday mornings. It will do so again starting next spring.
Maybe this is old news, but I wasn’t aware of the planned return to the riverfront until I saw the sign pictured at the top of this story. It was prominently displayed at the market Saturday.
I don’t remember exactly when the Saturday markets were moved from the riverfront to the City Hall parking lot and Fourth Avenue. It was about 10 or 15 years ago.
The market’s return to Water Avenue will make use of part of the new plaza street now being completed as the last portion of the Central Albany Revitalization Area’s Waterfront Project…
