Bicyclist suffers life-threatening injuries in Hartland Township crash

A 45-year-old Brighton bicyclist was transported with life-threatening injuries to the University of Michigan Medical Center in Ann Arbor after he was struck by a 2024 Jeep Grand Cherokee on Blaine Road south of Highland Road (M-59) in Hartland Township at about 10:30 p.m. Friday.

According to a release from the Livingston County Sheriff’s Office, the man on the bicycle crossed into the path of the Jeep, which was being driven south on Blaine Road by a 17-year-old Brighton boy.

The Brighton teen in the Jeep was not injured. The bicyclist was not wearing a helmet at the time of the crash, and there was no lighting to the rear of his bicycle…
