Shelby County man indicted after military-style devices found in June

A Shelby County grand jury has indicted a man unlawfully possessing, transporting or receiving a biological weapon with the knowledge or intent to kill or injure someone or destroy a public building. According to court records, Jerry Lee Clarke was also indicted for manufacturing a destructive device, in addition to directing abusive or obscene language toward Helena police officers, including shining bright laser beams into officers’ eyes.

These charges stem from an incident that occurred back in June, after military-style devices were removed from a South Shades Crest Road home.

Clarke was charged with two counts of possession or transportation of a biological weapon and unlawful manufacture of destructive devices…
