Two men were arrested Saturday night after a shot was fired near Newport on the Levee, and a stolen vehicle was crashed as the suspects attempted to flee the scene, the Newport Police Department said.
Police said officers received a report of a single gunshot fired in the 100 block of East Third Street. Officers found that the shot was fired into the air to likely cause public alarm, police said.
