Pinpoint Weather: Rain arrives tomorrow with a cold front

ROANOKE, Va. (WFXR) — A cold front will pass through tomorrow bringing scattered showers and a few storms along with gusty winds. A Marginal Risk (1/5) for severe weather is outlined over the area where a few storms could contain damaging winds.

The day will begin dry with increasing cloud cover before showers begin to move in from the west into the afternoon. The main line of rain will be moving through during the evening before exiting to the east by the night.

A few upslope showers will be possible over the mountains into early Monday morning before skies clear out for the day.

Outside of any storms, winds will be gusty at times ahead and behind the front. Wind gusts may be around 20-30 mph with higher gusts for the ridgetops before calming down Monday night.

Temperatures will cool down behind the front into the 60s areawide under sunny skies for Monday.

Highs will trend a few degrees warmer for Tuesday as another cold front passes through. Other than a few mountain showers, this front will likely pass through without any rain for most, bringing cooler temperatures behind it to end the week with highs in the 50s to 60s.
