Foodlink unveils new Edible Education Center at annual Fall Festival Saturday

ROCHESTER, N.Y. — A fall festival celebrated the opening of the new Edible Education Center at Foodlink’s Community Farm on Lexington Avenue. This initiative is part of a $2 million investment in the property.

The vision for the center began in 2010. Since then, Foodlink expanded its growing space and built a greenhouse. The farm serves about 100 local families and hosts workshops, field trips and community events.

“This is a space that is safe. It’s vibrant. It’s open to community members,” said Julia Tedesco, Foodlink CEO. “It’s located in the northwest quadrant of Rochester which has not seen a lot of investment in recent decades. So we’re proud to invest $2 million in the neighborhood. We took community input.”…
