Crisp air returns, marking the unoffical arrival of fall

Say hello to the fall cold!

After starting the season off at a near-record pace, long-awaited cooler temperatures will finally arrive this week.

Sunday will mark the first time since May 10, nearly half a year, that our thermometers dip into the 40s.

Don’t expect it to warm up much during the day, either. High temperatures will only climb into the low 60s, and to make it feel even cooler, winds will be quite breezy. Northwest gusts of 15 to 25 mph will make for a crisp and blustery fall day.

Milder air will make a brief comeback on Monday, with temperatures rebounding into the mid-70s to kick off the workweek. But enjoy it while it lasts. Cooler, crisp fall air will settle back in shortly after.

Rain chances remain low for the next several days. However, our next weather system is expected to arrive overnight Thursday, setting the stage for a soggy Friday…
