Medina rec center receives surprise donation of baby changing tables

MEDINA, Ohio – Last month Parks and Recreation Director Jansen Wehrley announced that Foundations Worldwide Inc. – a supplier of children’s products including cribs, changing stations and other furnishings – offered to donate a universal changing station to the Medina Community Recreation Center. This month Wehrley announced the company has also donated baby changing tables.

“Council just last month accepted the approval for the adult changing station and we had just completed our locker room renovations,” Wehrley said. “The question came up about how old the baby changing stations at the facility are and we discovered they were pretty old so we reached out to Foundations to get a quote on baby changing tables and then Foundations just shipped them to us for no cost.”

The donation of the universal changing station is valued at $10,500 and can be used for all ages and sizes and can hold up to 500 pounds. It will be installed in one of the rec center’s family changing rooms. Wehrley said school maintenance staff agreed to assist with the installation and added that the Medina County Board of Developmental Disabilities has agreed to provide customized instructional signage that will be hung near the changing station…
