Auburn University, the University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB), the University of Alabama and Samford University have all secured notable positions in the 2026 U.S. News & World Report’s Best Colleges rankings.

Auburn University is ranked #102 in National Universities, tied for #49 in Top Public Schools, and #180 in Best Value Schools. It also ranks #57 in Best Undergraduate Engineering Programs, #40 in Nursing, and #139 in Economics. Additionally, Auburn is tied for #39 in First-Year Experiences, #67 in Best Colleges for Veterans, #58 in Best Undergraduate Teaching, #48 in Most Innovative Schools, and #403 in Top Performers on Social Mobility.

UAB holds the #132 spot in National Universities and is tied for #68 in Top Public Schools. It ranks #171 in Best Value Schools and #125 in Best Undergraduate Engineering Programs.
