A house in the Town of Villenova was destroyed in a blaze on Sunday. Chautauqua County dispatchers say the fire occurred at 935 Route 83 at about 11:15 AM, with eight departments responding to the scene. South Dayton received mutual aid from Cherry Creek, Forestville, Sunset Bay, Cassadaga, Sheridan, Ellington and Leon in battling the fire. One firefighter on scene was transported to a local hospital for minor injuries, according to the Forestville Fire Department. The Chautauqua County Fire Investigation Team is looking into the cause.
