EMMETT TOWNSHIP, Mich. — Damage to several headstones at a historical cemetery is being investigated as a possible vandalism.
Emmett Township Police Department (ETPD) officers are investigating a possible vandalism after several headstones at Sandstone Cemetery were discovered damaged Friday night, according to Emmett Historical Preservation Committee on their Facebook.

Never thought that this would be a post we would have to make,” committee officials said on Facebook. “Last night a committee member found that our beloved Sandstone Cemetery had been vandalized. The damage is heart breaking & devastating!!”
While the committee posted the headstones had been vandalized, ETPD said they are still in the early stages of the investigation and are not able to confirm incident as a vandalism yet. That said, they are investigating it as a possible vandalism…
