Flower City Down Syndrome Network celebrates annual Buddy Walk

Rush, N.Y. — The Flower City Down Syndrome Network hosted its annual Buddy Walk on Sunday, uniting over 200 families, self-advocates and community members to honor and support individuals with Down syndrome.

FCDSN holds the event during October to mark Down Syndrome Awareness Month, continuing its mission to provide education, resources, and inclusive opportunities for individuals with Down syndrome and their families throughout the Rochester area.

“It can just feel isolating as a parent and so to have this community where a lot of other people, even if they don’t share the exact struggles we do, they share similar ones and can give us guidance either as somebody who’s been there or just empathy as someone who is going through the same things as us,” said Hannah Pascucci, mother of a child with down syndrome…
