Rockford community raises money to end world hunger

ROCKFORD, Ill. (WIFR) – With millions of Americans at risk of losing food assistance some people in the Rockford community walked to help their neighbors facing hunger in Rockford and worldwide.

With food insecurity becoming more a problem, the annual Rockford Area CROP Walk hopes to spread awareness for all those who may be struggling with this issue.

Organizers said the Greater Rockford Pantry Coalition serves more than 2,300 people per month between its locations. With cuts to programs like SNAP, more families could rely more on area food programs…
