MONMOUTH, Ore.- The Montana State University Billings volleyball team (1-13, 0-9 GNAC) fell short in straight sets to the Western Oregon Wolves (2-15, 1-8 GNAC) earlier this evening in the Wolves Athletics Center.
It was the Wolves that showed out in front of their home crowd, playing near flawless volleyball. Western Oregon hit over .200 in the match as a team while recording 33 kills, 11 team service aces, and 12 team blocks. The Yellowjackets struggled to gain an advantage in the entire match with WOU able to jump ahead to an early set lead and run away with comfortable set wins. The Wolves were able to take the first and second set 25-16 and won the final set of the night 25-14. Leading the way for the Yellowjackets wasJordin Taulua who had 9 kills and one ace on the offensive end and two solo blocks, two block assists, and eight digs on the defensive end. Setter Kenzie Allen dished out 14 assists with five digs and one solo block while Avarie Gutierrez held down the back line with 11 digs.
