HUDSON — The manslaughter conviction of former Claverack resident Arthur Morgan was upheld by the New York Court of Appeals last week.
Morgan, now 54, was first convicted of second-degree murder in 2008 in the killing of his wife, Angela Morgan, after police found her body wrapped in a blanket and stuffed under the couple’s trailer.
The verdict was overturned on appeal in 2017 when it was found that Morgan had been deprived of his right to testify at trial, according to the Columbia County District Attorney’s Office.
