BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KBAK/KBFX) — It has been a gorgeous weekend with afternoon temperatures finally pushing up to, and even above, “average” for the first time in a while. Sunday evening saw some high clouds, which made for a nice sunset.
As the saying goes: “red sky in the morning sailors take warning, red sky at night sailors delight”. The weather has certainly been delightful as of late.
A cut-off low is spinning around some 500 miles southwest of Bakersfield this morning.
Will this be our “Next Weather Event”?
This feature is pretty moisture-starved at the moment and the high clouds we saw on Sunday were generally located some 30,000 feet overhead. By Tuesday, this low is forecast to move northeastward toward Point Conception. As that happens computer models continue to suggest a modest mid-level moisture field developing along the northeast quadrant of this circulation.
