CHATTANOOGA, Tenn — Food City will open a new 54,000-square-foot supermarket on Highway 58 Tuesday, replacing its former store nearby that closed earlier this year for construction of the new location.
The new store comes as many Chattanooga residents continue to face limited access to affordable groceries. In the past, we have highlighted parts of the city where low-income neighborhoods have few full-service supermarkets within walking distance.
