Barricaded suspect surrenders after aggravated assault standoff in Port St. Lucie

PORT ST. LUCIE, Fla. (CBS12) — A tense standoff ended without injury Sunday afternoon after a man barricaded himself inside a bedroom during an aggravated assault incident in a Port St. Lucie neighborhood.

The St. Lucie County Sheriff’s Office (SLCSO) said its deputies responded to a home on Entrada Avenue, near U.S. Highway 1, on October 19 at 2:43 p.m. At the scene, deputies learned that the suspect had locked himself in a bedroom following a reported assault.

SLCSO said its deputies worked to de-escalate the situation, and by using tactics and securing the area to protect nearby residents, were able to get Antonio Conde Cabrera, 40, of Dania Beach, to surrender voluntarily…
