Virginians can now walk, bike or run on the newly opened 4.8 mile-segment of the planned 43-mile Fall Line trail, which officially opened on Sept. 24.
The trail, when finished, will span from Ashland to Petersburg. It will run alongside parks, transit connections, 95 public schools, six colleges, the Virginia Capital and Appomattox River trails, according to organizers.
The entire project is expected to be completed in 2036, but some parts will be finished sooner…
