Orvis to close Baton Rouge store as company shutters more than 30 locations

Fishing and hunting gear retailer Orvis will shut down its Perkins Rowe location as part of a company-wide downsizing that will halve its number of stores.

Orvis’ Bluebonnet Boulevard location will close on Dec. 24 after 17 years of operation. The Manchester, Vermont based company announced earlier this month that they will close 31 stores and five outlets by early 2026 due to the “unprecedented tariff landscape.”

In its last few months of operation, Orvis President Simon Perkins said the store will offer “substantial savings” and access to products that will not be available again after they’re sold from the Baton Rouge location…
