On Thursday, Oct. 16, Baton Rouge General Hospital admitted Mark Chesnutt in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. He was scheduled to open for the band Alabama at the Raising Cane’s River Center that evening.

At the time, the reason for his hospitalization was for “medical reasons.” Chesnutt’s band performed in his place.
Of course, fans expressed concern for Chesnutt, who has a history of health issues. On Friday, doctors continued treating him for a “low sodium count and extreme high blood pressure,” according to his management company’s interview with The Eastern New Mexico News, so they could run additional tests.
