Cyber investigation leads to arrest of Maurice man for soliciting juvenile

CONCORDIA PARISH, La.(KTVE/KARD) — On March 11, 2025, 63-year-old Joseph C. Begnaud, a resident of Maurice, Louisiana, began communicating with what he believed to be a juvenile female for sexual purposes.

On October 16, 2025, the Concordia Parish Sheriff’s Office – Cyber/Special Victims Unit established probable cause, and Begnaud was taken into custody by the United States Marshals Service and the Vermilion Parish Sheriff’s Office. He was transported and booked into the Concordia Parish Correctional Facility on the following charges:

  • Indecent Behavior with Juveniles
  • Computer-aided Solicitation of a Minor

The investigation is ongoing, and no further details are available at this time.
