From the Dundee Bakery to the Dundee Dell

What may be Omaha’s oldest restaurant likely isn’t the place you’re thinking of. My research suggests it may have started as the Dundee Bakery as far back as 1910. That’s the year that Rudolf Scheffler, a native of Germany born in 1882, settled in Nebraska. Rudolf opened is business in the independent village of Dundee five years before it was annexed by the City of Omaha.
