Mayor Mobolade, City Councilmembers to hold community meeting to discuss future of Meadows Park Community Center

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (KKTV) – Colorado Springs Mayor Yemi Mobolade and City Councilmembers Nancy Henjum and Kimberly Gold are hosting a community meeting on Wednesday to discuss the future of the recently-closed Meadows Park Community Center.

The community center on South El Paso Avenue, in the Stratton Meadows neighborhood south of downtown Colorado Springs, closed earlier this month as part of an effort to cut costs to address a projected $31 million budget shortfall.

At the meeting, city officials are expected to discuss “next steps for the future use of the facility.” The city’s Parks, Recreation and Cultural Services department said it will also be an opportunity for residents to share their feedback.
