COLONIE — Acting on a tip, authorities on Saturday searched a local motel in hopes of finding a man accused of robbing a 76-year-old woman and hitting her with his car as he fled a McDonald’s in Ballston Spa last week.
The suspect, Joseph Hess, a 32-year-old man from Herkimer County, wasn’t found after Saratoga County Sheriff’s Office deputies entered the Econo Lodge Inn & Suites on Central Avenue in Colonie at 4 p.m. Captain Dan Morley of the Saratoga County Sheriff’s Office said authorities spent two hours looking for him there.
