Gas prices in Birmingham have fallen by 3.4 cents per gallon over the past week, now averaging $2.69 per gallon, according to GasBuddy’s survey of 550 stations in the area. This marks a decline of 8.1 cents per gallon from a month ago and 15 cents per gallon from a year ago.
The national average price of gas has also fallen, dropping 4.1 cents per gallon in the last week to an average of $2.98 per gallon. This is the earliest date since 2020 that the national average has fallen below $3 per gallon, said Patrick De Haan, head of petroleum analysis at GasBuddy.
In Birmingham, the cheapest station was priced at $2.41 per gallon yesterday, while the most expensive was $3.58 per gallon, a difference of $1.17 per gallon.
