ALBEMARLE COUNTY, Va. (WVIR) – A lightning strike may have been behind a deadly house explosion in Keswick two months ago, according to Albemarle County’s fire chief.
The blast killed a neighborhood woman, injured another man, and shook up the usually quiet Glenmore neighborhood as debris littered yards for miles around.
While the final answer has not yet been released, Fire Chief Dan Eggleston said he believes lightning struck a gas line at the Ferndown Lane house, creating a rupture and leak that eventually led to the August 19 explosion in Keswick that destroyed a home and killed 76-year-old Justine Jocelyn…
