Teen arrested in connection with deadly 2024 shooting in Madison Park

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WKRN) — More than a year after a deadly shooting in Madison Park, the Metro Nashville Police Department announced an arrest in the case.

Just after 2 p.m. on June 12, 2024, 16-year-old Justin Robinson was fatally shot in the 500 block of Dupont Avenue near the Madison Community Center. On Monday, the suspect accused of shooting Robinson — 18-year-old Jerome Mackey — was arrested by detectives with the MNPD’s TITANS Unit on a criminal homicide charge.

Mackey was arrested in Madison Park and was armed with a pistol at the time of his arrest, police added.

Detectives determined that Mackey “was part of two rival groups from Hunters Lane High School,” per the MNPD. The groups came across each other in the park when Mackey allegedly pulled a gun and fired in Robinson’s direction…
