LELAND, N.C. (WECT) – The Leland Town Council has unanimously voted to ban open burns for land-clearing purposes within town limits during their meeting on Oct. 20.
The ban follows concerns from residents about developers’ open burning in the area, and the visibility and air quality impacts of the fires.
