Madison police arrest intoxicated driver after cyclist sustains minor injuries

MADISON, Wis. — Madison police arrested a person suspected of hitting a cyclist in the intersection of Williamson Street and Blount Street while intoxicated late Sunday night.

Officers responded to the scene and found the bicyclist who was side-swiped as the driver was traveling through the intersection at around 11:40 p.m. Police said the cyclist was transported to the hospital with minor injuries.

Police received a call regarding a vehicle stuck on the railroad tracks near Paterson Street after the crash; the suspected driver allegedly showed signs of intoxication and was arrested for second-offense operating a motor vehicle while impaired, hit-and-run causing injury, operating without a license, and possession of drug paraphernalia…
