WASHTENAW COUNTY, MI — A $500 million lawsuit claiming Michigan’s women’s prison was engaging in “state-sponsored voyeurism” has been dismissed.
Washtenaw County Probate Judge Julia B. Owdziej granted an order for summary disposition Oct. 15, throwing out the lawsuit against the Michigan Department of Corrections that argued recording strip searches violated the rights of hundreds of incarcerated women.
