10-year-old struck by car on Magnolia Avenue in Knoxville

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (WATE) — A Kia Sedan struck a 10-year-old girl in Knoxville, resulting in serious but not life-threatening injuries, the Knoxville Police Department said.

Just after 6 p.m. Monday, KPD officers responded to East Magnolia Avenue at Olive Street where they found the girl and the sedan, which had stayed at the scene. She was taken to the UT Medical Center for “serious but non-life-threatening injuries,” KPD wrote.

“It appears that the girl was attempting to cross the road outside of a crosswalk when she was struck,” a spokesperson said.
